Cilla: I once saw a page on Samantha's site that I was really taken with. She posted pictures of people in movies, TV shows, etc. who, she thought, looked like certain Les Mis characters. Anyway, she hasn't been able to post on that idea in quite some time (she's at college), so I thought I'd keep the concept alive. If you have any ideas on who resembles a Les Mis character, just e-mail me your idea, and, if possible, a picture that you think supports your opinion, so I don't have to search for one. And don't worry, I'll credit you. Here are the suggestions we've thought up so far, grouped by character:

Enjolras

Gabriel Martin (The Patriot)

Oh, this is a cute picture...:-D It reminds me of the artillery sergeant incident in the book.

The Prince (Disney's Beauty and the Beast)

He looks a bit like Enjy to me, except somewhat uglier. But in this picture, he looks like Enjy!

Douglas Sills as Percival Blakeney (The Scarlet Pimpernel)

*swoon* ;-D

The Minuteman Statue

This is a statue in Lexington, Massachusetts, of a Minuteman. It is a tribute to the brave men who rose at a moment's notice to defend Lexington and Concord at the beginning of the American Revolutionary War. It reminded me of Enjy. *g*

Jack Kelly (Newsies)

Cutie newsie leader...:-) This picture was suggested by Jessica.

Anthony Warlow (actor)

Okay, so he really was Enjy...but he's still completely adorable! ;-) Suggested by Jackie.

David (statue by Michelangelo)

Doesn't he remind you of Enjy? With fewer articles of clothing? ;-D

Legolas (Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring)

Adorable elvin prince with flowing blond hair...;-) (whose name happens to sound like Enjy's as well...Coincidence? I think not...) Suggested by Jackie.

Nicholas Nickleby

Gorgeous...thanks to Roxy for the suggestion!

Combeferre

Milo Thatch (Disney's Atlantis: the Lost Empire)

Heh, heh, heh...doesn't he remind you of 'Ferre, even a little? Or am I just crazy...? ;-)

Fletcher Christian (The Bounty)

Mel Gibson at his cutest. He actually has a ponytail in this movie, although you can't really tell from this picture.

Mathew Brady (historical figure: 1823-1896)

Harry Potter (Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone)

Not surprisingly, several people I have shown my drawings to have made this comparison. Hmmm...

Frodo Baggins (Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring)

Isn't he so cute? ;-) His hair exactly matches my Combeferre's hair, except for the length in back. Side-pieces in front of ears, long pieces in front, color, everything! Eeee! He does look remarkably like my Combeferre all-around...

Elvis Stojko (world-famous figure skater)

I was just watching the Olympics, and thought to myself that this Canadian looked like my 'Ferre (but then, I apparently see my 'Ferre in a lot of people *g*).

Randolph Henry Ash (Possession)

I haven't seen the movie, but Jeremy's Northam's character looks strangely like my Combeferre...

Josh Groban

Unbelievable tenor...*sigh* Although, I always did imagine 'Ferre as a baritone...

A cat

A picture that I found in my mom's cat desk calendar...hehehehe...

Clive Durham (Maurice)

Gorgeous slashy movie based on gorgeously slashy book. Hugh Grant before Americans knew who the blazes he was. Oh, and just to emphasize the slashiness (and because I have no separate section for Enjolras & Combeferre together...;-)), here's another lovely pic:

Stephen Maturin (Master and Commander)

It goes without saying that Enjolras is the Aubrey (right) to Combeferre's Maturin (left). It's so perfect...!

Jehan Prouvaire

Willy Wonka (Charlie and the Chocolate Factory)

Okay, Prouvaire, I believe, doesn't exactly look like that, but the clothes are simliar...:-)

Wesley (The Princess Bride)

Hair-falling-in-eyes cuteness! *g* Suggested by Jackie.

Will Shakespeare (Shakespeare in Love)

Joseph Fiennes as the ever-famous lovesick poet. ;-) The connection is a natural one to make...Suggested by Sirius Ravenclaw.

Edward Castleton (The Four Feathers)

I'm annoyed that I couldn't find a nicer picture, even after scouring the WWW. Oh well. Go see the movie, and just try to tell me this guy is not Prouvaire through and through. Not that that's a bad thing at all...;-D

Gavroche

The kid in the 2001 version of Planet of the Apes

Hey, if anyone actually caught this boy's name, let me know...:-)

Tony Toponi (An American Tail)

As Ela, who suggested this one, puts it, he's Gavvie who's been turned into "an animated Italian mouse." And who doesn't love that? :-)

Lesgle (Bossuet)

Charlie Brown (Peanuts)

I've always made this strange connection; don't ask me why. After all, Charlie Brown also has totally rotten luck and is pretty much bald.

Marius

Theodore "Laurie" Lawrence (Little Women)

Christian Bale with a Marius haircut. *lol* This was proposed by Jessica.

Sir Galahad (various Arthurian legends)

One of my favorite Arthurian characters...Suggested by Jen.

Courfeyrac

William Trench (The Four Feathers)

I love this guy. He seems to be the only person with a vague sense of humor in the movie (and appears to have a "special" relationship with Castleton--look under Prouvaire's listing, above ;-D).

Hideki Asaba (His and Her Circumstances)

Cutie! Suggested by fellow anime fan Meredith on the basis of personality, rather than looks.

Grantaire

Alexis Labranche (Séraphin: un Homme et son Péché)

Awesome! Someone who actually bears resemblance to R (not nearly so homely, though, mind you ;-))! Thanks, Gabrielle!

Cilla: Well, that's all we can think of at the moment...

Home is where your rump rests (don't sue me, Disney!)...
